allegorical method of expressing reality. Gordon
Moffett works in many mediaoils, acrylics, pastels, pen and ink, charcoal,
printmaking, carvingwhatever best expresses the thought, idea or dream and creates a
mythical, mystical illusion of reality. Themes
in Moffetts works are the emotions of the human condition. Innocence, abandonment, loneliness, love,
universal suffering, change and growth, birth and death all find magical expression. Moffett encourages viewers to find personal
meaning in his works, and to join in the creation of myth. Leah Stewart "Food is art." Working with sugar, buttercream, fondant, chocolate and pastillage, Leah Stewart creates edible works of art. A hatbox that's really a cake, or a Derby Hat cake complete with handmade red roses are just two of her creations featured on this website. Wedding cakes with cascades of handmade fondant or pastillage flowers are a specialty. Three of Stewart's creations have been on display in the Sullivan University collection--a white chocolate ladies hat decorated with handmade dark chocolate roses and white violets, a dark chocolate tall, gentleman's top hat and an art deco inspired pastillage vase filled with a bouquet of handmade chocolate flowers.
Leah Stewart holds a BA in History and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Louisville.
